Bareilly: Bareilly District Magistrate Avinash Singh has stepped in to help an economically disadvantaged ITI student after her bicycle was stolen from the premises of a government Scheduled Caste hostel.
The student, Neetu, lives at the hostel while pursuing her ITI studies. Her bicycle, which was her primary means of travelling between the hostel, educational institute and library, was stolen a few days ago by unidentified thieves. Coming from a financially struggling family, Neetu was unable to arrange a replacement and had been walking several kilometres each day, affecting both her studies and daily schedule.
Seeking help, Neetu approached the District Magistrate at his office and explained her difficulties. Singh listened to her concerns and immediately took cognisance of the matter, directing the concerned officials to provide assistance.
Acting on the instructions, the district administration arranged a new bicycle for Neetu without delay. The student expressed happiness after receiving the bicycle and thanked the administration for its support.
The District Magistrate said lack of basic resources should not become an obstacle to the education of economically disadvantaged students. He added that the administration would continue efforts to extend assistance to people in need.
The initiative has received appreciation from various quarters, while Neetu and her family expressed their gratitude to the District Magistrate for the prompt intervention.
